Good Works Advancement was started by Karen Wolfe, a top development professional for over 20 years. Her drive for results stems from working in some of the most competitive markets in the U.S. where she has advanced organizations through diverse development strategies.

For Harris County Precinct 2 and its affiliated nonprofit, Karen has written dozens of successful grant proposals. Her expertise in program development and grant writing integrates thoughtfully selected data to demonstrate impact with eloquent prose to communicate the organization’s values. She has also managed Precinct 2’s special events, served on the fundraising committee for Exploration Green, an innovative flood detention project in Clear Lake, and helped successfully launch the arts nonprofit Magnolia Park Arts & Community.

Karen first developed a passion for mission driven organizations in her earliest fundraising experiences coordinating film premieres and awards dinners for Beverly Hills, CA nonprofits like STOP Cancer and the American Cinematheque. Her first million dollar events included an awards dinner honoring Tom Cruise, and a film premiere starring Harrison Ford. Her events consistently outraised fundraising competitors.

She completed projects for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), MacArthur Genius John Malpede, Otis College of Art & Design, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and the LA Forum for Urban Design, among others.
